Perfumer Yogesh Kumar interprets Vienna's culture with new bespoke ambient fragrance

This week, the Viennese perfumery industry, represented by the Vienna State Committee for Perfumery and Drugstore Retailing, launched 'Vienna - a fragrance for Vienna', an 'Eau de Ambiente' created by custom perfumer Yogesh Kumar. The official launch event took place at the Giant Ferris Wheel in Vienna's Prater. The ambient fragrance won't be for sale in perfumeries, but it is very likely that you can smell it in perfumeries in Vienna and in the fragrance gallery of perfumer Yogesh Kumar in Kirchengasse 24 in the 7th district (by appointment only https://www.dasparfum.com/yogesh/), as Fashion.at was told today in a phone call with Yogesh Kumar.

More than 300 bottles of the 'Vienna' fragrance were handed out to representatives of the Viennese perfume trade and their guests yesterday at the annual Duftstars gala, where the winners of the most popular fragrances in various categories were celebrated. 'Vienna' is intended for use at official events of members of the Viennese perfumery and drugstore trade. Fashion.at asked Yogesh Kumar how he would describe the scent composed from jasmine, ylang-ylang, vanilla, neroli, cypress, geraniol and citrus fruits. The perfumer said it's fresh and warm at the same time. It's very sensual and opulent and balsamic; the latter especially because of the vanilla. The citrus and neroli notes bring a natural feel to the 'Eau de Ambiente'. 'Vienna' is complex and multifaceted - like the city itself.

The composition was selected from 12 fragrances by a 14-member jury of perfume experts from the Viennese business community. It embodies the city's blend of tradition and modernity and aims to highlight the uniqueness and regional ties of Vienna's perfumeries. 'Vienna' will be distributed free of charge to member companies of the Vienna State Committee for Perfumery and Drugstore Retailing and used at selected events to promote the industry. The Chamber of Commerce represents 786 member companies in Vienna, employing approximately 3,000 people. According to the press release, the fragrance is an instrument to bring the perfumery trade to the fore and to underline its specialty of individuality and professional advice.

Fashion.at hasn't tasted the fragrance yet and is already curious to smell the Viennese ambience.
