Recently, on June 14th, the gala of the Austrian Perfume Prize 'Duftstars' took place in the historic Palais Ferstel, celebrating the best fragrances in Austria. The event of the international Fragrance Foundation was hosted by Arabella Kiesbauer and featured performances including the song 'Climb Ev'ry Mountain' interpreted by German singer and actress Yvonne Catterfeld from the musical 'The Sound of Music'. Some 290 guests from the worlds of art, culture and business attended the event. The fragrance awards were presented in more than 10 categories, including two audience award categories. Voting was open from April 15 to May 25 on duftstars.at. The winners are Chanel 'Chance Eau Fraîche EdP' in the category Best Women's Fragrance and Giorgio Armani 'Acqua di Gìo EdT', Best Men's Fragrance. Additional consumer preferences were taken into account for the Best Print, TV and Out-of-Home Advertising and Favorite Retailer awards. The winners in the latter category are: 1st place Douglas House of Beauty, Vienna; 2nd place Kastner & Öhler, Graz; 3rd place Parfümerie Alina, Salzburg.

On https://www.instagram.com/fragrancefoundationaustria, pictures from the events are published, including a video with an inside look at the studio of designer Thang de Hoo, who created the yellow dress worn by the show's host, Arabella Kiesbauer. Thang de Hoo was also one of the laudators. The designer introduced the winner of the first-ever award in the new 'Artistic Independent Award' category. The prize went to the Italian brand 'The Merchant of Venice' for the perfume creation 'Queen of the Night EdT Concentrée'. The award was handed over to its founder, Marco Vidal, who also received this year's honorary award for special achievements in the perfume industry.
