Austria Insight: Visiting hair salons with entry tests or vaccination pass?
Currently, most Viennese are still waiting for their vaccination. The so-called 'Impfplan' (vaccination plan) has been changed recently again and vulnerable groups or older people have to wait - again. The trust in the administration was weakened already in the last weeks by the further use of the vaccine AstraZeneca. It's planned that vaccinated people have in the future several benefits such as entering a hair salon without an entry test.
Since 3rd May, hairdressers have been allowed to open their salons for customers. Now after one week with open doors, hair salon owner Katharina Strassl provided some insights into her business during and after the lockdowns. Katharina Strassl is one of the prominent coiffeurs of Vienna. She is especially known for practical hair styles which are developed from international trends and interpreted for the individuality of the wearer.
One of the currently applying problems for customers, alongside experimental DIY haircuts or coloring of grey hair, are the obligatory Covid-19 tests before getting a new haircut at the salon.
The government will present today details of the new rules concerning entry tests and vaccination passes for the next step back to normal with the opening of gastronomy and hotels from 19 May. It's planned that less strict rules such as entries without tests apply for vaccinated people in future.
